Tailoring for Beginners - Creating your own bespoke tailored trousers. Using the patterns from Vanessa Mooncie's The Gentleman's Wardrobe, this two day course, will teach you how to adapt a menswear pattern to your own measurements and then the techniques to construct and finish your own beautifully tailored trousers. The pattern can be adapted to ladieswear or menswear. This course is for beginners to tailoring but an intermediate level of sewing and knowledge of garment construction would be helpful. A copy of the book and all patterns are included in the cost, along with calico, all pattern making materials and a tweed wool fabric for you to make a toile, or even your trousers with. All you will need to bring is a notebook and your lunch. If you would like to make the garments in your own choice of fabric, please get in touch for advice on the best fabrics and quantities needed to complete the garment. ------------------------------------------ Tailoring for Beginners - Trousers. The trousers feature a zip fly fastening and two pockets to the front. The back has two welt pockets and two darts and the trousers are finished with a waistband and belt loops. Your tutor for this workshop is Peter Foster who has been a lecturer in textiles, fashion and costume design for over 20 years. Tea, coffee and refreshments are also provided, all you need to bring is your lunch. This two day workshop is held on July 14th and 15th, 10.00am - 4.00pm both days.
