Service Description

This one day workshop will teach you how to make a beautiful felt landscape picture using the art of dry felting using merino wool. Our textile tutor, Peter Foster, will show you how to create a landscape using basic transfer ink printing to create a background and then embellish with merino wool textiles to create clouds, grass and sky to create texture. You will be able to construct an amazing picture and learn the techniques of painting with wool. There will also be a choice of Christmas themed colours and techniques if you would like to make a piece for the Festive season. There will be the opportunity to experiment with a range of textile skills including wet felting and needle felting. Your beautiful wool artwork could be enhanced with machine or hand stitching and could even incorporate some Sashiko embroidery which would be demonstrated on the day. You don’t have to make a landscape, you may prefer to do a more abstract piece or your own choice of artwork. By the end of the day you will have created a beautiful piece of felted artwork which you could take home and frame. All materials, equipment and use of machinery are included. Please note :- All workshops are held on the second floor with access via the stairs Hand sanitiser will be provided throughout Tea, coffee and refreshments are provided.
